It's true, the burgers aren't the fastest around. But honestly, I can't think of a better place to be chilling out waiting for one. The murals on the walls upstairs rock, and if you go in the afternoon, the pool tables will prolly be set up for you to enjoy a free game. The K.C. burger and the Pitts Burger are my favorites, and all the burgers are thick and juicy — the way a burger should be. Casino is an oasis on Sixth Street, prolly my favorite afternoon place to grab a burger and a Pacifico and just be.

When you enter just walk straight through the bar to the back and order a burger at the kitchen. Go back to the bar and get yourself a good beer. Chill out for 30-45 minutes. When you hear your name yelled out then go get your burger and eat it. Delicious.

But please don't go there expecting to pop in and pop out. It's a bar first and a burger place second; they just happen to have the best "thick" burgers in town. Relax, play some pool, drink some beer, watch some TV, enjoy your friends' company and conversation.

the atmosphere more than entertains you on the long wait for a truly unique/amazing burger. As posted above, the serrano burger is nothing short of addictive and mine came rare/med-rare (just the way I ordered).

Best burgers, jukebox, bartenders, and overall bar in town. I simply can't say enough good things about this place. If I ever have to leave Austin, Casino will be near the top of my list of things I'll miss most about Austin. It's THAT good.

I can take or leave most burgers - greasy coasters or so salty that all the moisture gets sucked out of your tongue.

Casino's Buffalo Burger definitely does the trick for me. Spicy, meaty, gotta use both hands, and sometimes I even eat two.

Casino is an event for people who don't go to 6th St. often. Sure the burgers take a while but if you have a problem don't go. As far as having nothing to do...buddy, it's a bar. There's a TV. There's beer. There's a jukebox. Bring someone to talk to. Either that or you can go eat in your car after hitting up Sonic.

Huge burgers cooked rare-med/rare. The serrano burger is addictive. Yes, it takes 45 or so minutes, but this place usually has old horror flicks playing and there's a pool table up top to make the time go.

ok...time for this "surly" reputation to be laid to rest. c'mon now, that was *years* ago. all the guys that work the kitchen now are awesome and i've never seen them be anything but polite.

they also have one of the best chili dogs in the city....give that a try sometime. i switched to those after my 200th amarillo burger.

Big burgers that are hand made by a surly cook in a dark bar: what else can you ask for? The bar is up front, pool tables upstairs (newly resurfaced, although the cues have seen better days) and the "window" to order burgers is in back. There is also a patio behind the building for nice afternoons/evenings.
The cook is a little gruff, but he hand-makes great burgers and the fries are cut from whole potatoes. The burgers are big, about 3/4 lb. and the basket of fries is enough for two people. The menu says that burgers are cooked medium unless otherwise specified, but they usually are a little more medium rare, so be sure you let the cook know how you want it. The burgers take a while to cook, anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes or more, so after you order, get a beer and play some pool. However, when the cook yells your name, be ready for a burger that is as good as any back-yard burger you could ever make. Most places in town have the thin-style patties, so having a thick, juicy burger is a welcome change. I like the Chicago burger; the bacon is usually crisp, which is always good.
The bar itself is pretty dark, and they have odd movies on the tv. Last time I was there is was a 3 Stooges movie. The crowd is also eclectic, but I guess that is part of the charm.
