Decent Tacos

I got the crispy taco lunch combo--three crispy beef tacos, rice, a puddle of refrieds and a small drink ($4.95 + tax). There is very little seating inside this location, just a few stools that can be pulled up to a narrow bar looking into the kitchen. Very no-frills.
The tacos were not bad, but nothing sublime. Tasty standard crispy tacos on what appeared to be factory shells (i.e., not made in-house). Beans were ok, and the rice was quite good I thought. Overall, similar to what you would get at Taco Cabana, although I have to say I was expecting the crispy tacos to be something more special, coming from a place called "Taco Shack." Frying the shells to order, for instance, would make a huge difference.
But it's a good value and a decent quick tex mex meal. I'll be back to sample other offerings.

Even when I worked across the street, I couldn't stomach them. Bland, bland, bland.
Not what I expected

I also had the 3 crispy taco meal. Tacos were OK. It tasted like standard hamburger meat fried up with garlic and not much else. The meat was bland and flavorless. The cheese on the tacos is a higher quality than Taco Bell. Rice - eh-- I haven't really ever had bad rice anywhere - I had good rice but rice is just rice. I didn't try the beans.
The salsa is the same as they use for the breakfast tacos. Once I tasted the salsa I wanted breakfast tacos instead.
